Thanked: 5I have been so happy with my Omega brush that I bought a small and cheaper one for my dad yesterday. I tested it on my palm and found it to be so soft.
The only time I don't like to use my boar brush is when I am using Martin de Candre. For some reasons, this soap works much better with a badger brush.

Okay gentlemen, I got a 10049 omega in today. My first lathering experience was not a very good one. I was using Jack Black supreme cream and a travel scuttle by RAB. The lather was not like I am accustomed to on my Walgreens boar brush. Does the 10049 require a little break in time? Will my experience get better? Should I try it on cake soap? Any help here would be appreciated

Thanked: 3226I think most boar brushes need about 2 weeks of everyday use to break in properly.

Thanked: 250I love my Semogue 830 boar way better than a badger or synthetic. Never tried a horse hair brush yet.

I have the American made Century boar brush, it says on them pure bristle made in the USA. I was used the other I am not sure when I received them, I tried one, not bad but I prefer the silver tip badger bristle over anything. If it doesn't matter to you what the lather is like once you work it up then you can use pretty much anything, I like hot lather from a brush that can keep it hot!
