What size scuttle did you end up getting?
I have a want for one of these also, but can't decide size wise.
Cheers

scuttle routine
What steps do you perform to get the most out of your super scuttle?? I am getting warm lather but hotter would be better. Do you leave water in the pour spout during shaving?

Thanked: 213The idea is to leave the water in like a double boiler. I fill it up inside and the bowl before I shower and let it sit with my brush in it. Then when I get out I dump that out and fill the outside compartment full with water that I boiled before I got in the shower so it is not boiling it is hotter then tap though. This keeps everything nice and hot.
Good Luck - Don

Yes I know how to fill it and all. I have just been refilling with tap water, I will try your method tonight.

Thanked: 11That is the idea, really. The spout (someone called it sidecar once ) is designed so that water can be left in it, innit?
I do exactly like Don, fill it with the first warm water under the shower (the lather bowl, too), then after the shower empty it all out and refill the double-walled hollow with hotter water. Good look from me, too.

Thanked: 11Hi folks,
it took a lot longer than I promised (sorry about that), but finally now the homepage of Schwarzweisskeramik is available in an english version.
www.schwarzweisskeramik.de
If you land on the german site, klick on the "english" flag.
Thanks to my brother Ludger who did all the linking and stuff that I am not very good at.
Hope you'll like what you see.

Good site! I particularly like the idea of grating your soap to fit into a different sized holder. There has been a lot of discussion on thie forum in the past about using the microwave to melt it etc. but the grating sounds like a less risky and less messy solution?
Also, the Potter's ABC link is broken if you're in the English language sectio0n (but I think I understand why -- translation issues?).

Thanked: 11Thanks Mark,
the grating of soap is less messy as long as you don't use water to compress the flakes.
Also, this method avoids heating up the soap, which might lead to the evaporation of some of the ingredients.
Strangely the ABC link works when I klick on it. Once yesterday it did not.
It is not a translation problem - although the english headlines will not be in alphabetical order.
