The amount of water it holds is the key. The Schwarz... is the king of scuttles but shipping is quite expensive. I have a Moss Scuttle and like it very much. Georgetown makes great ones too just with them make sure you get the latest that hold more water. Their earlier ones simply didn't. About 20oz of water is the minimum. The more the merrier.

Great to see you back Birnando!

If you are wanting a Roberts Feat of Clay scuttle you had better get one before the end of the year. Because of returns and the costs of shipping being so high he is thinking about closing up his shop at the end of the year. He still has stuff on ebay but you never know!

I checked a few days ago and he didn't have any with a reservoir. His website is no longer up....just ebay stuff.

Look on the left side of the page and click on scuttles. I saw 8 of them.

Great deals from Robert's Feats of Clay | eBay Stores

Straight Razor Designs makes a good reservoir scuttle, I use mine exclusively.

I'm a scuttle butt too. I fill it with hot water before my daily routine. When I'm ready to shave that water is what I use to soak my brush. I fill it again with
hot water and my lather stays nice and warm for a right hand shave and again for a left hand shave. This is a "Moonstar Pottery" product, I use it daily.

If I ever broke my Schwarzweisskeramik, I'd buy another one the same day. It's one of the best components of my shave and the XL give you lots of room to play.

+1 to the above, mine is on it's way from Germany as we speak, not cheap but this is what is used in the video by Chimensh, an absolute monster with a wide mpouth for the brush.
