Thanked: 3228I don't own either brush but just wanted to say that leaving the loft the same for the two brushes with different sized knots accounts for the difference in bloom. Just as Mark has said. The much lower loft setting of the 30mm brush for it's size will make it denser with more backbone than the 24mm brush. It also will not give up it's lather as easily as the 24mm knot.
I like 2 band badger brushes and if I was in the market for another the Maseto would get a real close look. Nice looking brushes to boot too.

Yep, what they said. I dont have ether of these brushes but i do have a tight knot brush that is too dence for the loft and it takes some sork to get the soap out. Normally end up using a lot more soap than needed for the shave to get it to act properly.

Thanked: 3228For me, I have found that setting 2 band badger knots lofts to around twice the knot size works best for me. Makes for good face lathering and the odd time I bowl lather too. That gives me good backbone and good lather pass through. That would mean a 24mm knot would be set around 48mm-50mm loft. Never had a 30mm knot but I would try a loft of around 58mm-60mm on that size knot. That is for me, others may like them set differently.

Your right Mike. You can get a nice handful of lather then slap it on the face. Lol. Its a great brush but i should have not set it so deep. Set it with marine epoxy so it aint coming out!

TBH, I like mine set a bit deeper.
But then I like them a bit stiffer as well.
