Oh the humanity! It looks like one of the soap bowls on the top shelf has been used!

My word you are so right that is the Ogallala Bay rum new formula and I used that right before this pic was taken....If you haven't tried John's at Ogallala Bay Rum new soap I highly recommend you do, his old formula got OK reviews because of that thin lather....He has without a doubt fixed that problem

    Default It is not Overboard

The SWMBO has decided that I have finally gone overboard with the last purchase for the "Shave Den"!!!!!!
The other day I ran into one of our other SRP members 'Scarface' aka Lou. We go to the same health club, and Lou starts telling me about how he is really getting into steamed towels before his shaves....
Well this week I started trying them out, and I have to agree, that steamed towels are true heaven.
So I start with bringing two towels that are damp downstairs to the kitchen and microwaved them for about 1 minute and, WOW that really works, so I go up the stairs, then down the stairs, then up the stairs, and then I say this...

So on the way home tonight, from a long day at work, I stop at Wally-World and buy the smallest microwave they have... I get home and clear out one side of the linen cabinet, and rearrange the shelves, and Voilà' I now have hot steamy towels right in the "Shave Den"....
And she says I went overboard for the $35 microwave.....
So I did what any self respecting husband would do, I walked into her closet (one of the small bedrooms that I made into a closet) and started counting pairs of shoes,,,,, She likes the microwave now!!!!!!!

I would post a pic but there really isn't anything to see....

And if she's anything like my wife, she doesn't even wear some of those expensive shoes. Maybe once or twice a year right...

Guys I used the hot steaming towels this morning for my pre-shave prep!!!!!
I cannot recomend this enough, this might be the best $35 I have spent since I started straight shaving...
The difference in the shave is dramatic, and the luxury of those hot towels just makes ya feel like a king....

Try a little FO, or even better EO, in the water that you use to soak the towels and it gets even better

Still waiting for other to post their ideas from their "Shave Dens"

I hope I can build my own shave den one of these days. The bathroom in the basement is already roughed out. Now all I need to do is clear out all the junk in there and start building.....unfortunately the junk in the room is all the ceramic tile I need to lay in the basement, sun room, lumber for studs, electrical etc. etc. I might be done before I am dead.

    Wow, what a den!
If I was your kid, looking at the size of those strops, I would behave for the entire next YEAR!

FO = Fragrance oil... A cheaper chemically derived scent bearing oil

EO = Essential Oil... The actual oil brought forth from a plant, flower, root etc:
