That looks great BJ it looks like the tangs sit in small holes or at least divots which really would make them sturdy too...
Great job thanks for posting it!!!!!

I like that. Looks a lot easier to make than what I was thinking of. A little routing to round the front edge, mark out the hole centers and chuck a Forstner bit in the drill press. No scroll saw work needed. I do not think having them sit on the tang like that would cause any problems. The steel is not going to bend under the minuscule weight of the razor. Only thing I would worry about is having one open when it gets removed, gravity pulling the blade open, but that would not be that big of a deal. don’t put your finger on the trigger, don’t grab a razor by the blade.

Thumbs up Can I come over?

Man, I am so jealous of your set up. I want to come over and shave at your house. I was looking up Trumpers Barbershop in London today and read a review on how they treat their customers. Made me wish I would have made the trip when I was in Germany. All that to say, your shave den would be the perfect proxy for the english mecca of shaving. I love it. Outstanding job.

The holes were easy to mark and drill. I made a mark on the wood every 1 inch and used a 7/8 forstner bit to drill the holes. I have had no issues with the blades sitting on the tang and have a shallow hole drilled for each to set in. I have all my blades pretty tight in the scales so have no issues with them coming open on their own. This one is a 38 hole unit. I have a 12 hole unit over my sink that I made out of Missouri Cedar which came from a tree on my own place.

    I love the display cabinets.

Mine are sitting out on a shelf and I have to slather with mineral oil each time.

I lucked out. At the Ohio get together I was lucky enough to win a display case. A gorgeous TI case from Classicshaving. Add in some fancy wood scaled razors (7 blades in transit, I cut my own scales in the wood shop) and I am on my way.
