This is in my current bathroom....I will be moving into a new house (hopefully sooner than later) and will be gutting and customizing the bath there to suite my tastes. In the meantime, here at home the only shave equipment I have on display are two "shadow box" type of things that my (soon to be ex) wife made for me about 10 years ago. Once I get moved I'll open them up to confirm date codes, etc., so for now I'm not 100% sure about whats inside them.

First shot is the shave soaps/creams/brushes/bowls that I have left out to use until I move (stay away from my Bushmills!)....
The second shot is one of two identical razor "shelves" that I built after Xmas. They will be painted solid white before being hung up at the new place and each one holds 48 razors. The ones seen here are my regular rotation.....I think I have enough in my collection to fill 4 of these however....lol...

I'm looking forward to it.....put a bid in on a 1940's house today....still has all the original trim and tile work. If it works out it will be a really nice place when I'm done. I'll keep you posted!

Thanked: 0Is the bushmills to relax yourself pre-shave, or to celebrate a successful shave?

The wife has been complaining about my measly 4 razors and a couple soaps and my strops. Come on, I had my razors sitting on top of the Q-tip container and the soap dishes on top of the toilet, maybe one square foot of space. Everything else is hers. So I went to bed bath and beyond the end of last week and got a wall cabinet for the bathroom
Normally, I despise these put together cabinets, they are cheep, and usually look it. This one was not bad. I take out some extra insurance buy putting some gorilla glue on the dowels and a drop on each part that mates against another. Once the cheesy little cams are locked down tight the glue foams to fill any cracks in the joint and makes it rock solid. I hung it above a towel rack and anchored it to the studs. You could hang from it and it is not going to come down. My razors are simply sitting in a coffee cup in the lower open space along with my soaps. The frosted cabinet space is relatively open for future expansion.
While I was there looking for this, I stumbled across a two sided wall hanger in chrome steel with some nice penny sized caps on the hooks. Perfect for keeping a strop from sliding off. So I grabbed it as well. I hung it behind the bathroom door and put both screws into a stud, again you are not going to pull it down. I hung my shell horse hide strop (still my fave) and my two homemade 3 inch strops on it.
It worked out pretty good if I say so myself. Best part, the cabinet was on sale. The entire kit cost me less than $50.
