    My dear Rmaldon240:

How kind you are for the nice words. Thank you, sir.

I rarely use the same brush, or razor, on two consecutive days. I'll make an exception with my new Thater and use it again tomorrow.

Today I used it with Harris cream (not one of my favorites). Tomorrow I will use it Provence Sante Verlaine and see if I get the same results from the brush.

    Regards,
    Obie

Obie you have no idea how your post is killing me here. I bought a Thater chubby 3 and mine is sitting in some shipping crate in Germany waiting for that Volcano.

    My dear Thebigspendur:

That's right, the volcano. I forgot all about that. Ooh, that's a tough one, and here I am ranting and raving about these brushes without realizing some gentlemen have ordered them from overseas.

Maybe if we all smile at the volcano gods . . .

I look forward to reading your thoughts on the Thater "chubby." I bought my Thaters from SRD; however, they don't seem to carry the "chubby."

    Regards,
    Obie

Obie, the Different Scent site actually lists 3 types of chubbies - one clear handled, one blond and the third with black handles. The 3rd is the 4125. You may be happy to know you actually have the Chubby I.

I have had issues with my Rooney 3/1. I am probably going to get a refund on it and replace it with a 4125/1 in 22mm or 24mm. For those of you that one one of these brushes is this model recommended? Which size would you get? Will this brush work equally well with shaving creams, soaps, face lathering, and bowl lathering. Thanks for the help.

And measurements of the handle and loft height would be nice. The websites quote only the knot diameter and total height.

    Hello, RayG:

By Jove, you're right. Chubby I must be the one I have, black handle and all. What a surprise. I am happy, indeed. Thanks for the information.

    Obie

    Hello, Altshaver:

On its maiden shave, I used my Thater with D.R. Harris shave cream. Tomorrow I will use it with soap and express my thoughts.

My experience using brushes has shown me that a good brush can switch equally well between soap and cream.

Mine is the 4125/0 22 mm., a relatively small brush, but she is a beauty. I have a 24 mm. on the way.

    Regards,
    Obie

    Default Thater Brushes Comments

    Gentlemen:

On the second shave with my new Thater 22 mm. (Chubby I, I'm to understand), I used soap. Yesterday, the first day, the honor went to cream.

The brush soared with both products. As you well know, soaps and creams lather with some variation. Here, the brush handled both quite well.

Yesterday the cream was Harris' lavender. Today the soap was Truefitt & Hill's. The razor was the Dovo "Bergischer Lowe," the pre-shave John Allan's Slick Water, the balm Trumper's Coral Food, and the aftershave the traditional Pinaud Clubman.

Another good day, made possible especially by my new Thater brush. Gentlemen, I cannot say enough good things about the quality workmanship and the feel of this brush.

    Regards,
    Obie
