I was in my local Target in Fredericksburg in Central Park and what do you think they had?????????? There was 8 Shea butter badger brushes! (now there is only 6 as I bought 2). Also bought some Shea Butter shave Creme or African Black Soap.
Brought it home and compared it to my VDH boar brush and there was no comparison in softness. It whipped up a nice lather w/Williams Mug Shave soap in my shave mug.......actually a Corningware Mug w/handle I just got for my birthday. havben't tried the Shea shave creme yet.
Shave was only so so though. WSMS seems to dry out on my face, any solution besides shave faster?

I like the WMS but have the same problem. I find that I can load up my brushes with about 20 circles on VDH soap and get a good lather, but I have to double that to get a good lather out of the WMS. Then it doesn't tend to dry out as fast. Shaving faster always helps though!

Thanked: 1185My local Targets have bupkiss that even looks like a shaving brush. I've checked all of them and come up empty. Thanks for the link though. With all the positive press, I may need to order one up. I'm traditionally of the "We Don't Need No Steenking Badgers!" school of thought but for $9 I can scarcely afford not to give it a go.
The older I get, the better I was

Thanked: 21I to have just bought a 8 buck badger. It seems like a nice brush but I have limited knowledge. I also got the shave butter and african black soap. I like the scent but could not get any lather. I know the packaging says do not expect a lot but I got none. I am used to soap this was the first creme I tried.
1oldGI did you ever find a brush? I cant imagine shipping one to FL would be to expensive.?

I know this thread is for the shea brush but has any one tried the premium badger brush by van der hagen Buy Van Der Hagen Pure Badger Shave Brush Online at drugstore.com, because right now I'm using the vHd boar brush I got from the drug store. I'm curious about the badger brushes but the price tags turn me off because I switched to a straight razor because I got tired of spending money on disposable blades.
So any review on vHd badger brush would be great
and its almost impossible to find brushes and shave in normal stores go figure right

I'll have to recon the local Super Target and see if it's there. For $9, I can't go wrong.
I strop my razor with my eyes closed.

I have seen these and bought the cream, but I passed on the brush. I didn't care for it at all. I'll have to try the brush.

sadly my target near the house doesn't carry the brush either. It looks like it would be a great travel brush.

Man, I wish my Target carried it. I wonder if I can ask them to get it in stock? Anyone here ever worked for them and know if they respond to requests like that?
