Great! We have 4 or 5 Brush contest ideas! Use your imagination. Sky's the limit. Something fun! Just think of something everyone can easily do to compete. We need a contest to alleviate summer boredom.
With a (you know) brush!

Bart the "Brush Dog's" Contest. PARTICIPATION MANDATORY!
I know we have a lot of guys on here that can do great things with there hands. But I also know a far amount can do enough to get the job done but excel in other areas.
So how about a contest having members submit 1 or 2 paragraphs capturing the essence of using a certain brush. Either have a set brush like vdh which almost everyone has used or let the submit pick the brush. I like having the submitter pick the brush (as it will also create a good reference for people looking for a new brush)
Criteria:
1 to 2 paragraphs max
Name the brush
Describe the brush
Describe The feel of making lather with it.
Describe the feel of the brush on the face.
Finally how it just makes the shave that little bit better.

Bart, you are a HARSH contest poobah!
OK then...
How about a custom brush making contest? Same idea: limited time frame in which to throw together a brush with a handle made by the entrant. Purchased knots are totally fine, but you have to make the handle yourself. By hand, by machine, but by YOU.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Very nice, Cangooner! A particular theme is emerging, it would seem. Bart can visualize a melding of all suggestions. A contest artist in the wings? lessee, custom brushes, Naming your brush(??) , favorite brushes, brushbuilding contest, Summary of the brush experience, brush photography!
Let's hear some more!

Bart the "Brush Dog's" Contest. PARTICIPATION MANDATORY!
I would like to suggest a contest that is a bit different. What if we had a submission of pictures (drawn, created, bought ect.) of brushes that fit a theme. Such themes could be natural materials, unusual materials, cartoon themed, or my personal favorite --career themed--(brush matches the user, like a plumber brush, or fireman's brush).
This way someone can craft it, draw it, find it and buy it, just as long as they submit a picture. This way we can all participate. I really think that career themed brushes could be a blast, but other themes could work. It's just corn syrup... Warm, blood flavored, corn syrup ...
