but dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers. That is why they are wiener shaped, so they can fit in badger holes

UK Badgers carry Bovine TB and cannot be used for shaving brushes, there's nationwide cull on at the moment, I skinned one a few years back and cured the skin, they are very numerous throughout the UK, they belong to the bear family and are described as Britain's oldest mammal old Brock, they are omnivorous they have a sweet tooth and love earth worms like their big brothers Bears they will pretty much eat anything, there are Badger setts in the UK hundreds of years old used by many generations each year they are enlarged as the group grows and do what Badgers love to do dig. many years ago especially in coal Mining towns like mine people loved to go Badger digging on a Sunday morning with working Terriers, I myself kept working Terriers for many years mostly hunting Foxes bolting them from underground for larger Lurchers that caught and dispatched them quite quickly.

What makes you think a small dog like that had the tools to hunt a badger? Yes the were used for hunting badger, but they also used packs of them and a human was the one always making the kill. Just because a dog ifs breed to hunt lions doesn't mean it would our could kill one ( ridgeback)

Your comment reminds me of the famous argument over the air speed velocity of of un-laden African swallows. Perhaps you've taken it a bit too serious?

    Here's some nice badgers!!

Yea, those dogs are fearless. I don't think a little dog knows he's little. Any guided badger hunts on the horizon?
