Thanked: 3225I can only guess why they are protected in Ontario. The province of Ontario covers an area of 1,076,395 square kms/425,598 square miles and has an estimated badger population of only about 200. They pose very little threat and with numbers so low there would be no sustainable harvest. In other areas of North America the situation could be very different.

The Badger is the same family as the Wolverine, now that's the brush hair I want.

Thanked: 3225There used to be a wolverine mounted in a bar in town here that I used to drink at. Trappers hate wolverines especially on their trap-lines. Either get the wolverine or your trap-line will be unproductive,

Thanked: 485Badger's WHAT? I'm trying to think what Badgers HAVE that could be hunted. Some kind of pet of Badgers maybe, or slave, being of the lesser weasles, such as a Stoat. But I doubt you mean it's illegal to hunt stoats, as stoats are European. Clearly, you may be making reference to Black-Footed ferrets, which Badgers have clearly enslaved...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
