Something to Tempt You.....
Here's something new from Shavemac: http://www.shavemac.com/index.php?la...product=22675#
....Dr Chris Moss developed it in conjunction with Bernd at Shavemac....the $165 price is only for a short introductory period, and I believe that you have to register with shavemyface.com to qualify. But, it appears to be a great way to get what you want out of a brush, whether shorter & stiffer or longer & softer.
Happy Shaving...

Thanked: 9Yeah, I was reading about it but as I said - no new brush purchases.
Already sold the vintage Plisson, the other vintage silvertip, and the Caswell-Massey. So now down to Matt's ivory handle super silvertip, B&B Finest, and the Plisson (+Burma and Proraso).
Your photo reminded me that I haven;t been on my bike in months... and I need another bike - which makes razor expenses pale
Cheers

I'm glad I don't seem to suffer from SBAD like some people do!
After my Simpsons Duke 2 decided to fall apart I had 0 brushes, so I'm currently using a cheapo £3.89 boar bristle brush from Asda (Walmart UK) while I wait for my B&B Ebony/Finest to arrive. I put an offer in for a B&B Horn/Finest last night as someone was selling one on B&B, so fingers crossed I'll get that too and have a matching pair.
The boar bristle brush is acceptable temporarily though. It lathers really well but doesn't hold much lather so I need to re-lather from scratch each pass. It's also pretty scratchy compared to a silvertip but not bad at all for what it cost, it's going to be my travel brush.

Thanked: 4942Actually I'm in heat over a new Shavemac Brush that I got with a 30mm knot. This is an absolutely large but incredibly awesome brush. One of, If not the best one for me yet.
Have fun.

Speaking of Matt -- he and I discussed a brush project months ago, but I haven't heard anything from him in a very long time. No resposes to e-mails or PM's.
Anyone know if anything is up?

I gave up on buying brushes. Just got two more in and looking at a third! And I have over 20 now!

I guess I'm not the only one. I'm in the same situation with him rehairing a brush I bought on ebay. I emailed him that I was in no rush to get it back. I knew he was going through a tough time. I hope he's okay.
Btw, Lynn, I like the large knot sizes too. Did you ask for that size custom? Any pics? I'm looking for a used Rooney Style 3 Large Finest, Simpson Chubby 3, PL12 in super. I picked up both a Kent BK12 Silvertip and a Vulfix 41 Superbadger together for a great price used.Last edited by mrcleanhead; 03-04-2007 at 02:40 PM.

Thanked: 4Lynn: You really NEED to buy the SMF VLB. I put my order in the first day. I absolutely love my SMF1 brush, but the VLB looks like a complete winner.
