Thanked: 2284Thanks guys. Ya the whole idea of the dark veneer against the light light Tagua was the extreme contrast. 50% of the time when I turn Tagua, it explodes. Another name for Tagua nut is vegetable ivory, and is very good fake. It has a star shaped void in the middle which makes it very unstable. Glad this one stayed together.

Absolutely beautiful Andrew, the next part is critical so what knot are you going to use? I would like to see if that brush were mine a two band D01 or a Thater two band 26mm fan shaped knot with a 48mm loft my personal choice of course.

Thanked: 2284Well, to be honest this was more of an experiment to see if I could actually do this. Used my Dad as the guinea pig. it's getting a TGN 24mm finest 2 band with a loft of 48mm. He's also getting a puck of TOBS sandalwood, he loves that scent. He'll use that soap exclusively so hence the low loft.
I am planning on getting a couple shave mac knots in the future though. I also still have my 2 28mm Simpson knots. Can't wait to use those!Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

I couldn't give you Bill's exact age Andrew but I would say Bill was in his mid 60s he was a lovely person who led an extremely interesting life, I could stay on the phone for hours talking with Bill I was pretty shocked when I heard to be honest.

Andrew, That brush is a beauty. Indeed, your father raised a good son!
