Still sanding by hand to maintain the flute edges and profile sharpness but overall, happy with the progress.
Feed rates and plunge speeds are saved to the respective programs so I’m almost there.
Might slap some finish on these to see if they pop..
Besides, when it looks like this outside,

Wow! I really like those, and that wood combo really brings it to a new level of appeal.
These projects of yours are so cool to see develop!

You get the grinding figured out and do mine too, I’ll make us both some matching scales and brushes for them as trade. How’s that sound?

Sounds like a deal, I have 7, I’ll do yours last and make all the mistakes on mine.

You have seven? Maybe we work something out and I make you a 7 day set of scales with the days etched on them instead,,,
Did a set years ago in one piece ebony scales.
Would be interesting to revisit another set with what I know differently now.

Looks great Mike, and great to see Hugo supervising, did he approve? LOL

Still looking at a couple of high end synthetic knots we may be able to try, but also can't seem to get past Shavemac knots.

    Looking good brother!

Yessir, Phrank Hugo approved, he has claimed the first draft as a toy though, bats it around the room like an old thread spool..
Regarding knots, I hope you can find something in the synth line, but there can’t be any better than shavemac. They are the gold standard!
Today, putting the servos and spindles to their ultimate test regarding cutting power, this:

I’m confidant in the program now, it’s optimized and repeatable, the earlier Z issue was when a bearing on the up down actually got some debris in the way, so between run clean up regimen just got better. I see a modified shop vac dust collector system will be needed in the new shop room in the spring.
Hopefully this hunk of ancient Irish oak won’t break anything today. Gonna be noisy, and slow.
    Cheers gents.

Well, if you got your program all bug free you should be able to knock these thingz out with ease. Would be nice. I might have to hook up with ya on one. I dont have this shape of handle yet in my brush collection.

The tuxedo synthetic knot is a hard one to beat. I have a couple of them. And now i hear they are making them in 30mm. My favorite synthetic knot is a 30mm Sterling. Yesterday's SOTD pic. Dont know if your handles can hold one that big but it would be a great brush with a 30mm synthetic knot.

Thanks for the tip on tuxedo knots Jerry.
And the advantage to saving the program in sections is it is scalable, so I could go up proportionally, or just on the ferrule by mm dia to whatever knot I want to set.
Here’s one of my older walnut hand turned creations with a 30mm knot for perspective without making the handle significantly larger beside an original sporting a shavemac knot. I did take some creative license on the ferrule, but my wood, my decisions, hehe.
