Bob, I was actually thinking about cutting it in half, and starting from there so I didnt have a 6 inch or so handle, but i would love to have a gigantic brush. Why not, at least it would be different, just have to let the imagination run wild. Thats whats so great about this site, the fact that nobody has said it couldnt be done. Just giving alternative ways to get it done, its incredible. Now back to your thought about a larger knot, where is a good place to find said knot larger then 25mm?

whippeddog.com has them up to 30mm, although when I checked the other day he was temporarily out of stock. I think thegoldennib.com is another place where lots of guys get theirs. I'd be interested in other suggestions as I'm in a brush-making kind of mood as well.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Why cut the case down? You could make the bottom part a holder for a stick of soap. Yea I know we are really reaching for it now.

I'm loving the thought process Bob. Actually started to try and picture it as I read it.

I think an ammo shell brush would look sensational.

I'm afraid I have no idea as I have never used one of those fancy ones.

I'm beginning to picture the ultimate travel setup: surely we should be able to get a blade worked in there somehow too...

Ah yes the Swiss army knife of shave brushes. I am afraid the the shell case would be too short to take a regular straight razor. How about a custom shorty? Then you would have to forget the shave stick.

If you cut the firing pin section and turn it into a screw and thread the inside of the case you could put a small shave stick in there.

I actually have an omega travel kit with a trac II razor, brush, mirror, septic pencil and soap all in a barrel shaped holder. The soap is in the brush handle and the septic pen is in the razor handle.

This is an eBay bin of it take a look at the pics might give you some ideas. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...156&cmd=VIDESC
