yea I used to have one made by a Russian friend made from depleted uranium just that it turned out it wasn't depleated and the guy I gave it to started to look very strange.

I am always on the lookout for a giant shell to experiment with while razor hunting.
I find they are always too long and too expensive. Suppose someone could load an oversized shell in a lathe and form a knot sized taper using pressure (like how pots and lids are made) ?
I'd really love to have one!
Eric.

Mr. Eagle, I'm Dr. E.R. You say this happened, shaving?
Oh no, Doc! I never got to the shave.....I was just loading my brush and it went off!! Never even saw it coming.
Oh, I see....
Look forward to pics when you get the knot figured out, maybe during and after completion.

This would look very cool! I think as long as you fill the handle to bring the knot up to the right height, and use marine grade epoxy to seat it, it should work! I would vote for polishing the brass and maybe sealing it somehow, so that it doesn't turn green sitting next to the sink...Please post pics if and when you create this beast! I wonder if using a .50 cal shell would work...
