That will work, just do not go overboard with the epoxy,DO not put any on the plug of the knot, put in in the bore, set the knot, give it a slight twist, done.Nothing worse than seeing a knot set with epoxy migrating into the upper hair.

I think it's what ever works best for you? More loft is more bend in the hair. (floppy) If you want it stiffer set it lower. Glad you saved the brush. The first is always a learning experience. I will let pixel speak for himself but I am guessing years of experience and the feedback from those he makes brushes for tells him what is average.

Didn't see the pic before I posted. Looks like a lot of hole in there. And your going to want to center everything. I would still super glue that crack from the inside before setting the knot so as to keep glue off the paint. I don't know if silicone is going to hold the knot for long. :<0)

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

5 min epoxy, couple hrs. I only use silicone when someone is unsure of the loft they want.Is not a way to do a permanant bond.

    6 months I think.

or I go twice as long as the epoxy manufacturer suggests.
