    You think you can take an oily wood and boil it and let it cure, similar to briar for pipes?

    Still have yet to set up my vacuum chamber, I'll be using a Venturi type.

    Briar pipes I can see wanting to get rid of the oils,certain woods, the oils enhances the beauty of the wood,IMO

    This is one Skip did for me a few years ago. One of my prettiest brushes, IME.

    Wouldn't replacing those oils with cactus juice or other stabilizer have a similar affect as its natural oils?

    I want to keep the natural oils in the wood,is just my way.

    I had that problem with some stabilized cross cut palm. I bonded the slabs onto thin carbon fiber plate .015" with good results.
