Goodman was Good but Chick Webb was God.

Listen to both versions of Stompin at the Savoy & form your own opinion.

Hey Roy, I forgot you mentioned Western Swing in the OP.

You might like this one from a "Stooges" movie.

While the title of 'King' can be applied to many. Bob Wills is often considered the 'King' of Western Swing at least here in the states! (There is even a song called 'Bob Wills is still the King'!

Here's a clip of him playing a tune called Roly Poly. It's followed by a clip of a group called Asleep at the Wheel. They are playing with the few surviving members from 'The Texas Playboys'/Wills band! I've been listening to the Wheel for over 35 years! They have been sort of the 'torch carriers' of Western Swing!

I was fortunate enough to see them play live a few years ago and I'd highly recommend that anyone who likes western swing or swing music in general and has a chance to see them play to please do so!

Oz! Thank you for reminding me about Western Swing!! :

I they have won 7 Grammys and have been nominated 20 times!

Bob Wills: Roly Poly (I apoligize for no video but the music quality was better than other songs that were in a video)

    Hey Jimmie!

I've listened to Louis Prima many times, however I've never seen a video! I always like his style!

    Jamie.

I love Louie Jordan. I'm a swing dancer, a lindyhopper and love those Jump Blues he plays. Perfection.

Jimmy, Louie Prima's son is doing his father's routines now and Keeley Smith is still putting out albums. Great stuff to dance to and fun lyrics.

Keely was the perfect "straight man" for Louis Prima.

    Here's some more "Italian Swing"
