Bruno, as far as I am concerned, any cop who knows one of his own has done something wrong, and remains silent, is Also a bad cop. As long as they protect each other rather than the people (protect and to serve WHO exactly?)

Okay, I never thought I'd get to use this line, but here it is, there are 1 million stories in the naked city. This is one of them. I grew up in a small town and growing up I got away with a lot because my brother was a highly decorated Vietnam war "hero" and was killed and 66 and many of the local police knew him, so growing up. When I handed my license to the officer I always heard are you Richard's brother? And when I answered yes. I was usually told to beat it, which had the effect of making me, wiseguy, and when dealing with the Nassau County police. It didn't work quite as well, and I got tuned up a few times by the police. That being said, a few years later I found myself wearing a badge I was a town cop for six years and for what it's worth there are good and bad in all jobs. My first partner with the living embodiment of Barney Fife, this guy would not walk into our garage without having his hand on his pistol. I on the other hand still hadn't lost the streak of wiseguy that was in me but I was always polite to the citizens that I was there to help. When this particular towns police force was absorbed into the Nassau County police I decided, let me rephrase that it was decided for me by my father in several uncles that it was time for a change in career as my mother was a nervous wreck and I was her only son left, but for the most part. If you are polite to a police officer I would say 90% of the time you will have no problems 10% of the time you'll probably get a ticket, unless you're a criminal in which case you'll probably get something else. One thing I will share with you is the absolute best time I ever had on the job was when I gave the wife of a Supreme Court justice a ticket for blowing a stop sign in her Rolls-Royce at about 60 miles an hour, when she handed me her license, she asked me if I knew who she was, to which I replied yes, ma'am. I have your license right here. I did get reamed for that but it was well worth it. Just my two cents, but sometimes cops have bad days like the rest of us. So being polite goes a long way.

Rather surprised at how many LE and Mil , are on this site . It's great to see . I am so used to dealing with the local money merchants who will stand and watch a crime happen only stepping in to sponge up the mess that I have lost the FEAR of police , that is until I vacation in the states and watch how the local american paramilitary thugs that are masquerading as public servants treat and interact with civilians. Dem is some scary men on heavy power trips I think .

I'm genuinely curious, which police states do you live in?

Currently I live in China. Where the police on up to the brave harmonious leaders are for sale.
