Thread: What are we coming to or I don't believe it!

Somewhere in today's paper I scanned an article where someone was reporting instances of the parent(s) of some twentysomes were calling their childs' bosses to complain about their child not getting a raise or promotion!! I could swear an old sailor's blue streak right about now, but being relatively civilized all I can think is are they still changing the kid's diapers and doing their homework. head for the hills civilization is crashing all around us.

That's old hat. it's been going on for some time now.

several years ago I was running a construction crew. One days this woman come by looking for a job for her son. Turns out the "kid" was damn near 30. I was polite and tok the information. She came back three days later and wanted to know why I hadn't called. I said I'm here at 630 the job starts at seven. Anyone that doesn't have enough ambition to be here looking for work before the crew starts doesn't stand a chance. The car door slammed and she peeled out of there. Never did see the kid.

She didn't care if he had a job,, she was just looking for some place to get rid of his butt.

my brother has his own rather succesfull company and he stands by the same Moto as Rezdog,
And I quote his words "If the kids parent rings or comes in & asked about work, I throw the name or application in the bin"
because if the kid doesn't even bother to ring up or come in & apply themself in person they aren't going to be motivated enough to work

Bravo! Good for you! It's pretty clear who was actually interested in working a job and who wasn't. Don't even get me started on these 30 year old teenagers who still live with mommy and play video games all day. The resulting obscenities would probably get me banned for life. I don't know who is more to blame, the parents who allow this nonsense or the kids who seem to think their parents owe them cradle to grave security. I thank the Almighty daily that when I was growing up, when it was time to be a man, we jumped at the chance. How these leeches live with themselves is beyond my comprehension.

So it's those 40-50 year olds trying to destroy the world, eh.
Indeed it doesn't sit quite right with me - new sports car and bimbo at no-more half one's age is, in my opinion, a vastly preferable fix to a midlife crisis.
