    I see, strange stuff happens when it gets very cold for sure. A lot of people on the TV news shows have been doing the trick of taking a cup of hot water outside and throwing the water onto the air just to see it instantly freeze into ice pellets. You gotta feel for the homeless some of whom freeze to death outside in weather like this.

    In International Falls Minnesota, the coldest place in the USA, it was minus 41F last week. Not as cold this week but plenty cold. The forecast for tonight is minus 11F and for Saturday dipping down to minus 38F and windy. Glad I don't live there.

    Although I still live in Canada, this thread makes me appreciate my west coast home that much more. There was a stiff frost this morning...

    You were lucky to be able to walk to school, when i was a kid we had so much snow i had to crawl the 10 miles!

    Buckle up folks in case you haven't read it yet another round of deep freeze is coming Historic freeze could break Midwest temp records | The Chronicle-Journal. The hits just keep on coming, been a hell of a winter so far. Come on March is all I can say.
