    Although I still live in Canada, this thread makes me appreciate my west coast home that much more. There was a stiff frost this morning...

    You were lucky to be able to walk to school, when i was a kid we had so much snow i had to crawl the 10 miles!

    Well, after the walk through all the snow to school we were greeted by....NUNS!

    Buckle up folks in case you haven't read it yet another round of deep freeze is coming Historic freeze could break Midwest temp records | The Chronicle-Journal. The hits just keep on coming, been a hell of a winter so far. Come on March is all I can say.

    Ah...the "Menopausal Penguins," perfectly at home in heavy wool all year round. I had to run home before my day's tales beat me to the beating.

    PS.
    If it is cold, putting about a half tank of high test no-alcohol can make it a heck of a lot easier for your battery to start your car. Alcohol cools the charge and can make starting very iffy.
    Ditto for small engines, especially the factory set "Green" ones.

    They don't make them hills like they used to no more! Now you'd be lucky if it's uphill one way and downhill the other - somebody's cutting corners and skimping on them slopes!
    I say if you've got yourself a good old fashioned hill, hold onto it, some day soon they'll be worth their hilliness in gold.
