Thanked: 1587I think you're onto something there Mike! Except here the person often raises the impediment about themselves!

Whenever I see a banned user I look at the recent posts. Usually I can figure out what the reason is for the ban. Sometimes there isn't an obvious reason and I get puzzled.

Thanked: 1195As a general rule we do not air out our dirty laundry in public; that is, we feel that banishments are private affairs so we very rarely post why a member was banned.
What you guys are not privy to are the conversations that happen behind the scenes. Some members absolutely fly off the handle at the slightest hint of confrontation with a mod, others simply do not comply. Those are examples of cases that may not be obvious to the general public that you wonder about.
Simply put, we do expect members to respect each other and that goes for everyone. And this mod gig is strictly a volunteer affair so it really isn't appreciated when someone starts hurling F-bombs at staff and calling them every name in the book. It's rare but it happens

Thanked: 2027For the most part the SRP mods (IMO) are a great group of people that do a thankless Job.
I hope to never get banned again as I will not have anywhere to go as I am banned from most all shaving sitesCAUTION

Sometime last year or the year before I stumbled upon a post from a fairly new member who only lived 60 miles from me and thought ‘Great’! I emailed him and we started exchanging razors and ideas! I thought that this would be a great situation!
WRONG!!!
He was quickly Banned! I really don’t think that the ‘Ban’ happened because of what he had posted, but when ‘reprimanded’ he lashed out! Well he was ‘slapped’ and apparently given a temporary ban. He couldn’t let sleeping dogs lie! He knew enough about computers to run an end run and bypass SRP’s ban and went on a huge rant!
Lynn himself posted the Troll Spray picture telling him ‘Good Bye’!
Well the Northwest Meetup was coming up and he wanted to attend with me and offered to provide the transportation, but I had to hide his identity and I told him NO WAY! Those at the meet were my friends as were All Others at SRP!
After I repeatedly failed to respond to his ranting emails, he finally left me in peace!
I really don’t understand people like that! Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
