Earlier you mentioned TV couples slep in twin beds.
Well a little kid on Art Linkletter's show was asked how his parents were doing things for home safety... "Well they keep one of those rubber things under the rug between their beds to prevent accidents.."

I do believe that Art's show was called "Kids Say the Darnedest Things'.

One of the reasons marijuana is illegal today because cotton growers in the 30s lobbied against hemp farmers -- they saw it as competition.

During WW2, Kentucky was the #1 hemp grower in the US. The weed grows everywhere. However, it is not medicinal quality.

There are still small patches of "Rope" hemp around Wisconsin. And...watched carefully by the Feds. It was a huge business during the conflict because so many ships needed lines and the scrap was used for packing materials. Best, it would grow anywhere and not conflict with food crops.

I knew a couple of guys getting busted for trying to harvest some wild weed.

Bob Hope came to Lexington, KY to do a performance in the late 60s. Said he found weed growing right along a fairway on a local course. Everyone cheered.
