A few years ago when I was helping a young dentist in India with straight razors he ran into the same problem/well kind of/due to the Government's regulations and such all of the barbers had simply disposed of the true straights and were using the shavettes. They of course knew what they were but couldn't help him with acquiring one. The same with strops. I actually took detailed pictures and sent a full size pattern for the local cobblers to use to make him a strop. However they just couldn't get the idea or just didn't want to make one so I finally just said FI! And sent him an Illinois 827. He threw a 'Hissy Fit' but I told him he could bitch all he wanted but it was his. I'd also sent two shave ready beginner level 9/16 straights and a barbers hone.

He managed to keep his razors going for about two years but without anyone to help show him the edges finally deteriorated and he went back to using his grandfather's DE (that's how we met). He's found an old barber who could help him out with touching up his edges and he's back to using them. Say's they don't shave as nice as my edges but their better than none.

After all those years as a British Colony you'd think that he could have at least been able to find some straight razors. he'd been using a brush and some Godrej shaving cream with the heritage DE. The Godrej is a pretty decent cream. It's been a few years since I've used any of mine so perhaps today I'll give it a go and see how it goes.

Actually, if you can read music it is almost as funny as the comments "between the lines." I have played in the orchestra of several musicals and usually dreaded it because too much of the sheet music looked way too much like this one. Composers for musicals seem to want to pick the most difficult keys and write the most complicated bits forgetting that the orchestra is sitting in a pit playing mostly background music.
