Richard is right. Stay young at heart and in mind, as physically fit as possible and you to, can become an old curmudgeon like me, @82~the other Richard

To become an adept at the curmudgeonly arts do you need to practice or is it just a latent competency that only manifests at a certain time in our life cycle or after certain events have occurred?

By these measures I am well on the way to middle age.
    Lessee now....

    Afternoon nap...Love a nap anytime, but don't sleep when I should(I'm a night Owl).

Groaning when you get up.....All the freaking time !! Oh my achin back, bunions, hips, knees, ankles, fallen arches.......Geeze !!

Comfort over style.....mostly comfort but every now and again a nice shirt and tie creeps into the picture.Yep good there then.

Night in over a night out.....first off who the hell can afford a night out anymore.....well I can't anyway but, give me a cuppa tea and a pipe and maybe something nice to nibble on and you can have your loud bars, discos, and whatevuh.

And as for fiber.....loose as a goose is good for the caboose.....tight ain't right and brings on a porcelain fight

And finally......Curmudgeon is a state of mind and doesn't need any damn help from nobody or any damn explaining so get the hell offa my lawn.... got it already ?? !!!

Oh and of course as always ......Have a great day !!

Curmudgeon?? who me? I went to a Jimmy John's sandwich shop today. Lots of LOUD (~95+db) music. The order taker at the till got mad at me because I could not hear her questions. Then I made some noise. Big eyes! Radio got turned down, I got my sandwich and enjoyed it a lot.
Just don't have time fer a bunch of hoo hoo when I got a hitch in me "git along". Life is too short.

I love JJ's but yeah, the music is a little too loud. I don't play music that loud when I eat at home . And even when I do play music loud I use these things called H.E.A.D.P.H.O.N.E.S.

I would hope that no one can hear you chew, that is one of my bug bears in the lunch room, people who eat vocally.
