    Those batteries can go /spill at any time.

    John if you put those batteries in a bottle of coke, it will take of the corrosion. Then put them back in the flashlight. You should try that and let me know if it works.....

    No don't do that!!! They'll probably explode. But my father used coke to clean off the positive terminal on his car battery. I guess it worked.

    Yes, he was right. As a last choice, Coke on the terminals will remove some of the acid. Baking soda mixed in water is better though.
