Drill Issue !
The neighbor lady wants to use my drill all the time.
I have a Ryobi cordless 18 volt that she likes to borrow. I always say yes, because I like to help out. Sometimes my drill is gone a week or so; this time it has been a month. She has hobbies & put together some furniture. I don't want to ask her for it back, I don't want to embarrass her. I just think she forgets about it with her husband & 3 kids on her mind.
Now I do have a drill with a cord, but everybody knows how convenient a cordless is. My computer chair broke underneath me last night,, no jokes necessary. So I was thinking about the drill all day.
Well, I didn't want to bother her, so I went to Home Depot & bought another. Maybe when she does return it, I should just let her keep it & give her the charger that came with it.
Sorry, just had to get this off my chest.
New drill;

There is always a point of diminishing return no matter what it concerns.
A cordless drill will only operate for a certain amount of time without recharging and since it's been a month then it's not been in use/OR it died.
Since you've purchased a new drill motor and apparently a charger for it, I'd recommend taking the charger for the old one to the neighbor, knock on the door and say something like this:
I know how much you've appreciated that cordless drill so I'm giving it to you. OH, you will need this charger to keep it going.
If she starts to say Oh I forgot to bring it back or WHATEVER just tell her that you'd purchased a new one so she can keep the other one.
Perhaps, just PERHAPS, she'll understand and take it to heart that in the future she needs to return borrowed things in a 'Timely Manner'.
It's just a thought my friend.Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.
