It's always fun reading what constitutes socialism and communism with some Americans
Having lived next door to the USSR during the cold war, visited Albania during Hoxha and seeing east Berlin before the wall crumbled, it always makes me shake my head and smile

Looking from here where i live, some words just have become a symbol of everyhting you do not like, and the actual meaning of the word itself has not much or has nothing to do with it.
It is a fact that Russians have a trauma with fascism. For obvious reasons. But nowadays they use the word 'fascism' to blame everything. And the same seem to be with the word 'socialism' if you are American.

If you are Russian, you can blame 'fascism' for about everything, be it unemployment, hard winter, social instability, traffic jams, unfaithful wife or husband, poor luck with the horse racing tips etc etc. And the same goes with 'socialism' of you are American. Sometimes i think the leaders are using this ignorance to do whatever they want.

I think the eduacation and traveling is a great way to prevent ignorance and to really understand what is behind the talks of our leaders.

WELL, let see Clinton started trade with china, bush thought we were making $$$ from the Chinese, Obama had to borrow $$$ because we made the Chinese so rich and we ran out of $$$$.Only the fat cats over here made the $$$$ so we owe our butts to the company store (government) and the Chinese, japanese, arabs.

Although currently there seems to be an anschluss going on Crimea, there's certain military tension on the western borders of Russia all the way from Barentz to Black Sea. We're living interesting yet sad times in Europe right now.

Sounds to me you left your private insurance (aetna) for a government one (medicare). Last I checked you could buy any private insurance you want (provided you are meeting their requirements), nobody is forcing anybody on that big bad socialist teat.... Or just go to the pharmacy and buy your own meds with your own money, they do have a price.
In other words you shouldn't be blaming others for your own choices - personal responsibility and all that, you know...
