After a few days deliberation I have decided to withdraw from this thread. I know the article was satire, but I saw it as commentary on matters very close to my heart (like George Orwell's novel, he is obviously not talking of pigs taking over a farm). I was deliberating whether to respond to any particular comment or not at all, but after a few days of consideration, decided this was not the place to start a debate on the subject.

I apologise (Aust spelling) if I offended anyone. I must admit, personal circumstances had me in an unusual frame of mind when I placed my comment, and I should have had better judgement than to post such a comment on this forum.

If anyone would like to discuss further, I welcome any PM, but do not want to post anything to divide the group on this thread or others.

If you look for trouble you'll definitely find it ........ and if you're going to bark, you better be able to bite. Those peta folks will do better to stick to abusing women in fur coats.

Happened to post following Andrew by chance after reading page 1. So my comment is not a reply to his post above mine.

Now, reading further on through the thread it appears it was a hoax anyhow ? What a waste of duct tape.

I'm with Bob on this one. I disagreed with you that does not mean I am offended. You have a right as a gentleman to take up whatever causes you wish; that I -- or others here in this thread -- disagree with you and that we felt the actions of those in the article merited the response is a point of discussion... between gentlemen.

Still, if you feel you cannot continue the discussion without becoming offended or giving offense, then I salute your honest introspection.

Turn off the "news" and your brains will thank you. Much better things to think about.

No group of individuals is going to change anything without huge economic resources (billions) which enable legislative influence and military power. The companies are too big for governments to control any more.

Public Opinion is akin to a ball batted around by a kitten. The kitten is the politics controlled by the Companies in charge. And the Media scrambles around trying to make their buck and also do as they are Told (half of that is diversionary).

I have a degree in that mess. I've stepped completely away from it. Wasted way too many brain cells on stuff that simply repeats itself and is completely controlled by $.
