Thanked: 1587I've been using a fountain pen since my father bought me a Schaeffer when I started high school - so that's .... 25 years ago! Since then I've been through a few.
My most recent acquisition is a MontBlanc Starwalker medium nib - beautiful pen. One thing that's different and new (for me) about this one is the ink cartridge idea - never had one like this before. Keeps my fingers ink free though.

I got my pen here http://www.mpoeller.com/pen_gallery.htm it was made for me by Matthew. Mine is the top one in the gallery it's an awesome pen. If you like big pens I think you should get one of his. Hell let you totally pick a custom pen.

another site that is good to know is
www.peartreepens.com
The owner is a member of shave my face and they are just great. They sell noodler's ink and they used to make sample packs where you can sample the colors before you buy. I don't see it on the site anymore, but I think that if you e-amil him, he might do it for you.

Thanked: 13Hi,
Can't really give much info on fountain pens, but though I'd just say I've been using them for ever, and I don't really like using any other type of pen. Personally, I really like Esterbrook pens. They aren't made any more, and more of the time when you get them, the nibs are'nt in very good condition. However, the reason why I love them is that they are one of the few fountain pens I know where you can easily change the nibs on them without damaging the pen at all. In fact they are designed to be changed very easily.
The nibs can be quite easy to buy as well. Also, it's one of the few pens that I've tried that allows me to write really fast in gregg shorthand, which is a big plus for me.

Thanked: 1Nope, I'm a young whipper-snapper. I prefer the most modern stuff available (fountain pens, straight razors, pocket watches, 3-piece suits)
Actually, I've tried to use my FP as a dip pen once to see how it works but I was having to redip every couple of letters. Yes, I know, a FP is not the proper tool for dipping.

Thanked: 3I started collecting fountain pens at age 18, in 1968 and now have a collection of 2,000 pens. In addition, I distribute pens from Italy and the Far East and have the largest pen care and repair catalog on the web at http://www.tryphon.it/catalogo.htm
Believe me, pens are even more addictive than shaving stuff!!!

I'm a lefty. I arc my wrist in such a way that I don't smear the letters all over the place. Maybe I'll make a video sometime (Eversince I got my new camera I want to make video's of EVERYTHING!, It's sad, I know.)
