    Sorry you feel so bad.
I had an umbilical hernia. Sounds pretty easy compared to what you're going through.

I understand. Once mine were fixed I felt 100% again with increased motion and no pain. Recovery was not difficult except they said not to lift more than 7-10 lbs for 3 weeks. I didn"t think that would e a problem until I realized how many things in everyday life aren't marked with their weight.

Although I'm not a surgeon, I've certainly seen my share of inguinal hernias. In my experience, surgical repair is by far the preferred treatment, UNLESS there's some other condition present that is a contraindication for surgery, or the patient declines surgery.

What's the situation with you, pixelfixed?

Hey pixelfixed, I have had 2 over the years and yep they hurt like hell. Surgery is the best option. The longer you leave it the more it tears. Post op I was unable to work for 6 weeks. Doc reckoned it should be about 90% as strong. Been a few years since the last one and they seem to be holding up good. Trusses didn't work for me. Worst thing I remember post op was tryin to take a crap.

it's a common and minor surgery. No reason to suffer with that. My son had the same repaired a few years ago.

I'm not a surgeon, but I am a physician. I wouldn't delay on getting surgery. If a piece of bowel gets entrapped in the inguinal canal, shutting off it's circulation, it becomes a medical emergency and potentially can lead to death. At best, you're in for a lot of pain until it's surgically repaired. I wish you the best.
