Yes, everything would be so much simpler, easier and nicer that's for sure.

Thanked: 116That's the catch... some people have theorized that whoever wrote the commandments wanted to make a point. It is impossible to follow even that simple list of 10 items. It is one reason why there are so many different sects/denominations of Christianity after the 3rd century. A lot of the divisions can be linked to the "buffet faith" and "cherry picking" the one true word.

The pope just commented yesterday on pretty much what you're talking about:
Pope Francis: 'Pagan' Christians 'in Name Only' are 'Enemies of the Cross'

“Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man ... living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money.”
― George CarlinThe easy road is rarely rewarding.

Of course. Neither faith in religion nor belief in evolution can answer all the questions about human existence. You can say that humans evolved from this thing, and that evolved from something else. But at some point you have answer for a single living cell. The attempts to explain that have been as "out there" as anything religion might shock you with and are just as dependent on blind faith as religion. Those arguments are less important than how disproving the existence of a god would affect society as a whole. And there is always a contingent that will use every new scientific breakthrough as further evidence of the NON-existence of God in stead of thanking God for its discovery. There's room for both to operate freely and bring benefits to mankind. One should not be used to disprove or deny the other.

I'm in agreement with you both.
200 years ago if you had told folks that the Universe was made up of atoms held together by an unseen force they would have thought you crazy.
For me, the idea that the Universe was created and has an underlying Creative Force / God / Higher Power, or whatever name we refer to it, as all man has done since the dawn of time, is a no-brainer.
For me personally, I can look at the stars, or at the tree's or at the rocks in a stream, at people, and see the face and presence of this power...my view only.

I'd like all you white collar criminals to stand up and take a bow for ruining countless thousands of lives and being rewarded for it......if you are going to take on the little guy take the big guys down also......and a final word before I start really going crazy on this thread....follow the money.
