I feel like I am in a car spinning out of control on an icy winter road. I know I am going to smash into the wall . Its only a matter of how many pirouettes are left till impact. There is no way this is going to end well.

Thanked: 20Lots of problems that need to be fixed but Tuesday's election wasn't a step in the right direction. No election in the last 70 years has helped. It is the same people, with the same belief's with a few new added mouth pieces. There are enough laws on the books already to curb 99.9% of the problems, but no one with the guts to enforce them. Let's face it, no one is really offering true change, and that is what America really needs. No offence to any other county, but I find it sad when I hear about how well off and the freedoms they have in other countries compared to the here the land of the free and home of brave. As for the return of our troops, there are lots of reasons this has fail so miserably. First and foremost, as with any middle east country, they are built on religion practiced by nomads. The fighting has gone on since before Biblical times and at best you can only try to control it. If we wish to intervene again, it will only be controlled for a short time and it will have to be faced again.

I worked in Immigration for 30 years and all the issues discussed here have been going on since day one on the job. Nothing has changed.
When the original INS was created it was done by Congress to be a weak ineffective agency unable to do it's job. That's how they wanted it.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 2027Yes Richard,The Drought is having a major Impact,The Illegals are leaving the state and moving east.
I do not begrudge these people, they serve a purpose for Calif (cheap Labor) but they need to pay taxes like we all do.
They need to be forced to spend Money they make in America,in America instead of sending to Mexico.
In my youth I worked side by side with Braceros,Sacked Potatoes in Shafter calif,Cut grapes in Kermin Ca. Harvested all manner of fruit and Vegis in what is now silicone valley,my family followed the crops.
The Braceros were not Illeagals, they were bused into Calif,Housed and paid a fair wage,Than after harvest season, they were bused back to Mexico.
The system worked well.CAUTION

They are no longer "illegal aliens" ........ they are 'undocumented workers'. Bush 2 used to say, "They are doing jobs no one else wants to do." Before the flood of these people I guess he didn't notice who did those jobs ....... but someone did. I know, because when I was a young grammar school dropout I was one of them. Anyway ....... the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Wall Street is doing alright, if inflated dollars are any measure.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
