    Default Bill Cosby

    Anybody need a new sweater?

All jokes aside, this story, this media circus, must have reached the ears of this forum. So I thought I would start a conversation about my personal opinions thoughts and feeling on this subject.

Personally I think it odd that a statement by a comedian in Philadelphia has caused all this. Apparently he was the only form of black accusation that could be bought. But then again Jesus and Judas were both Jews. So if this is betrayal I hope Burress the comedian enjoys his silver.

Anyway this whole thing seems orchestrated. A kind of propaganda.

I have a hard time believing on the word of 13 women that all the sudden Bill Cosby is vilified to the extent he is. I suppose that if 13 women said Bill Cosby is really an extra terrestrial that the same reaction would occur. I, and I would have thought the public at large, would have had to seen some odd or despicable behavior regularly exhibited by Cosby for years to justify the instant turn on a man with his body of work.

A evil rapist is simply too difficult to disguise as "Americas Favorite Dad". And to keep a woman like Camille, even after the admitted affairs, would have simply been too much for a rapist!

It is not hard at all to get 13 or 50 women to come up with the same accusation. With enough planning, coaching, and resources it is as easy as writing a script an making a movie. Like an act, like a scene from a movie or something. The suggestion that the number of his accusers makes the accusation credible is no more relevant than the number of key grips and best boys that you see in the credits of movies.

They are simply part of the production. And most of the women are actresses, which makes collusion, or falling in tow with accusations all the easier.

Bill Cosby was part of the 100 million dollar club before any other Black actor. If he wanted to have sex he could easily afford an array of prostitutes run by various escort services....these services were plentiful and untrackable in his heyday....even up to today.

How could a philanthropist be so diabolical? Certainly a man that showed such CARE in his philanthropic work has some kind of CONSCIENCE!

And THAT is the factor here...CONSCIENCE...the extent that this man went to reach out to his people, their conditions, reveal a true nature of compassion.

I find it hard to believe a calculating drug slipping RAPIST resided in Bill Cosby. An adulterer perhaps, as he reportedly had faithfulness issues. But a rapist is a entirely different animal...especially for a fabulously wealthy man like Cosby. It suffices to say that it will take a lot more to convince me of his guilt than a degenerate filled media.

Here is another thing that, if I were a personal injury lawyer, I would bring to the trial.....ALL THE ACCUSERS ARE WHITE WOMEN!

I would think from a cultural perspective that Cosby, with his power, would have first had BLACK VICTIMS. This as Black Women would have been very easy for him to victimize for him in his position. He had enough money to BUY sex with white women, which were for sale with the money he had. So why rape a white woman? It would be too much of a risk.

Even if he was sick enough to have rape fantasies he could have simply bought them from a prostitute actress. Why take the RISK? It is too illogical.

But NO BLACK VICTIMS is not consistent with the profile of a black rapist of his era. If the victims were black...then UH OH. Because Cosby would actually, like Clarence Thomas, have to have married a white woman, in order for suspicion to be cast on a black woman as a accuser. But the abundance and exclusivity of white accusers just isn't consistent with the pattern of a black rapist of his means, power and era. It would be stupid to do so. There would have to be MANY black victims...it only makes sense.

This whole thing stinks. And it reveals the media for what they are. They cannot be trusted. I despise them. And I despise the evil citizens of this country stupid enough to throw him under the bus with ZERO SCRUTINY.

If he is a true rapist, then fine, castrate him with a straight razor. If not take every cent that the media has.....period!!

I don't know what the deal is with Cosby. I know in the past there were accusations which were settled out of court.

I think what it is more is what our society has become where an entry on some social media site is accepted and becomes gospel based on innuendo alone. It's an electronic form of mob mentality. It's no different than the guy in pakistan who tells someone the Christian down the block said bad things about Allah (to settle a personal score) and the next day a mob burns down the Christian Quarter.

The only positive is most folks quickly become bored and move on to the next "scandal". I think my Husky has a longer attention span than most humans.

    .
Maybe - but long after we have all forgotten because no one will ever hire him again, knowing the controversy... his reputation on Wikipedia will still be tarnished for all time lol.

Smear campaigns work. Heck - we have gone to war on less.

I think that if it's proven in a court of law - I'll begin to pay attention.

If these women have proof then they need to file charges if not they need the shut up. I don't know one way or the other but it seems like too many are jumping on the band wagon.

Like Bill I have no idea as to the particulars of this case, just as none of us have any information beyond what has been reported.

But before anyone makes any personal conclusions as to his (or any accused's) guilt or innocence, and in light of the OP's line of reasoning I believe there are several things that should be considered.

    1) There is now way whatsoever to reliably predict an abuser. I say this as someone who has spent the last four and a bit years studying widespread abuse of children. Many of the guilty were absolute pillars of the community - a fact that simply allowed them to squash accusations and continue their patterns of abuse. The simple fact of their position, power, and standing in the community often prevented any allegations being made in the first place.

    2) Allegations of abuse (in whatever form) often follow the pattern described above (nothing said, one person coming forward followed by others). For many, many reasons victims are often very hesitant and reluctant to come forward with their stories. But when one finally does, or when a story breaks into the open one way or another, it is not at all uncommon for many other victims to then come forward. There is strength and perceived safety in numbers, and so those who did not, would not, or could not come forward on their own feel more free to do so once someone else has done so first. (see for example the recent allegations against former Canadian radio host Jian Ghomeshi; the "Yewtree" investigations in the UK, the survivors of Indian Residential Schools here in Canada).

    3) Abuse is often about power and abusers crave the power that their particular form of abuse presents. The question of why not go to a prostitute is really moot as that involves an exchange of money for services rendered (I know this avoids many complex issues of coercion into the sex trade, human trafficking, etc., but it seems to me that in terms of the user and provider of sexual services, it really does come down to someone purchasing something from someone else). Therefore if someone is driven to perpetrate this form of abuse for the sense of power they receive, they are unlikely to obtain from a prostitute whatever satisfaction an assault may give them.

All of which is to say that I do not think any allegations of this nature made by anyone against anyone can easily be dismissed. And it is equally to say that I have no idea what did or did not happen between these people. I am not saying he is guilty of anything. I am just saying that the unthinkable *is* unfortunately possible.

And I hate to hear these allegations as much as anybody. I have been a Cosby fan since I was a kid listening to his records in my neighbour's basement. All I know for certain is that no one will come out of this unscarred.

Maybe Bill Cosby should get Woody Allen to write the script and they can have Roman Polanski direct it. Something about the rise and fall of ......... something that has no conscience .....

Either way, it's a shame. That's the biggest problem with being called a rapist. If it's true, then you're a despicable POS. If not, a large contingent will still think you are a POS.

I don't know if the accusations are true or not BUT there has only been hearsay presented so far. No proof. It's how many years later? Yes he settled out of court but that doesn't make him guilty. Today people have the mentality "if the media says it it's true."Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Like I said I don't know if he's guilty or not. That I think is the WHOLE point.
