Thread: How to break a US Marine

When I first joined the Navy my first short stint was on a personnel carrier (APA) and we would do amphibious assault practice landings with the Marines. For us it was a matter of getting the boats underway and maneuvering them to the beach and staying in formation. We were the first down the rope ladders to the boats and when the marines started down many would freeze. We would literally have to use a marlinspike to pry their fingers off the ropes to get them moving. Some were so bad we'd have to get their Non Comms to go up and yell at them to get them moving.
All in all a funny sight for us.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Ain't it the truth! I know a guy who's in the Air National Guard. Anytime he goes away for his two week thing they do he'd stay in a hotel somewhere.
A year or so ago they actually had to rough it. He was p*ssing and moaning to me that they had to wear their "gas masks" for three hours straight. I just
looked at him and wanted to slap the crap out of him! He already knows this but I said to him "Remember, I was in the Army?! (11 Bravo). No sympathy
from me. We were in MOPP 2 or 3 for what seemed like days on end!" And they actually gassed us!
