Thanks, Ilija. Your kind words are indeed words of encouragement. I made a pen for my cousin tonight out of Purpleheart, and finished it in CA. I'll post pictures of it in the other thread. I'm sure the razor will be superb.

I couldn't resist including a little restoration project in the package. The pen was too nice for just one razor. I still can't get over it.

There are several reputable pen dealers in Toronto, which I gather is not too far from you Go get some ink. I use Private Reserve in American Blue, I think it's a wonderful color. What do you think of the leatherette pouch to carry it in? When you go, make sure to bring the pen, and have it open as you hand it to them and say "I need a bottle of ink for this pen". When they ask who made it just shrug and say "A friend of mine, he may end up a famous pen maker one day, or maybe just a simple pastor making fine pens for his friends.".

Okay, enough of an ego. But yeah, go get yourself some ink and enjoy it. Check out all of PR's colors and find your "signature color". Trust me, you'll never look back.

Oh I'm simple when it comes to that. Waterman black is more than satisfactory for me. However, if I do take the pen to any pen dealer, I'll make sure I bring a whip and a chair lol.

Ilija, If you run into Steve or me with that pen, it'll take more than a chair and whip to hold us back...LOL

Worst case scenario, I have a bike that can outrun almost any car on the road. Now I just have to learn to ride it

So, I came back to this thread to post a review of the razor Ilija sent me (finally shaved, I was beginnin' to get ugly, and had to get one more commando shave in before my deferment kicked in). I stropped up with the giveaway strop I got, and that was different itself, I'll post a review in the giveaway thread.

Anyway, the razor was scary sharp. It rivals the one Lynn-honed razor I've ever owned. The shave was phenomenal. I did WTG and partly XTG to get a shave that I would be comfortable with on a normal day, but not a shave I'd want before date night. That said, I'm sure the razor will be used before my next date with the fiancee, because it was just that wonderful. A very light blade with very light scales. All in all, a real treat and a razor I'll be glad to have in my rotation. Definately work the pen I gave him.

I'm glad you liked it Harry. I tried to do this one right for you but the pen was so beautiful that I couldn't resist sending another one and still feel like I'm a bit ahead lol. I hope they both give you decades of great shaves.

P.S. I'm finally getting paid on Friday, so that's when I'll be able to take care of the expenses for the other pen
