It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.

Yea, but can you skate at the Forks yet in the Peg? Aren't those winter roads are a bit late opening this year?

At the forks? Absolutely not! The water still running, but southern winter road (Bloodvein - Poplar River) was opened (not for heavy traffic yet). It will take up to 2 week to confirm the ice thickness and determinate the weight limit on ice crossings.
Regarding the schedule, southern usually opened in second week of January, but northern winter road was delayed for the 2 weeks.

This give a pretty good idea of the volume and value of goods transported over that bridge in 1 day. The numbers are from 3 years ago so it is likely that they are higher today.

    Good video here:

I've always liked this video, crazy how much play is in that structure before it gives.

Thing that kills me is this . . . who thought it would be a good idea to start demolishing the OLD bridge? I mean, why take it down at all? Keep it in case, oh I don't know . . . the new one fails? Or maybe there's an accident and you alternate access over the river?
