Ya this thread probably ought to be shut down before tempers flare, I might find it offensive to have my politician of choice ridiculed, not to mention, if you really think who is in office makes a difference that's just not sane thinking, as statesmen, I would rather a good business man running our checking account than a someone who just writes bad checks against our future. You think the thread should be shut down, but then offer your political opinion. I'm not ridiculing your opinion and neither should anyone else, least of all in a gentlemen's forum. My post, as stated, is from a neutral position. There have been great statesmen on both sides of the divide in the history of US politics. To try and decide who was the best President between Truman and Eisenhower would be nonsense, both men faced different problems at different times. My point about Clinton and Obama being good statesmen has more to do with their sensitivity and knowledge of, and to, other cultures rather than it does to their ability to lead the US to a better future for the US. My question isn't which delegate will make the best President, time will tell us that. What I want to know is, who do Americans think will win? Over here, all we hear about is Trump. Hillary makes the news occasionally, but most of the exposure aimed at the neutral brigade (let's say 80% of Aussies) definitely goes to Trump.

I like the Donald, but I do feel he is a bit brash but a country is like a large business.

I like Cruz, but he is a politician.

    Either will get my vote.

    Hillary should be in prison.

Bernie is just a bafoon & already admitted he would tax us to death to share the wealth.

    That's where I stand, not debate-able...I won't show up.

Trump is probably an excellent business-man. But business-man and states-man are two different professions. So what qualities make for a competent statesman, a good statesman, and who running for US president exemplifies those qualities?

Nothing contradicting in my statement, if you,ve ever read my responses I have no problem saying what's on my mind, usually with some blunt words. And I'll debate politics with anyone, anytime if they can take my view on the candidates view or philosophy, but as I suggested only in the net rest of not causing some harsh words in this forum, it might be best as apparently we've already taken shots at this candidate in satire or in words. This is always a very heated battle by the time it gets going well. Now as to the exposure in other countries who knows? Who will make the best president, no one who is running. My opinion. Tc
