A $50 Lesson lifted from Reddit...

I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?'
She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.'
    Her parents beamed with pride.
'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her. 'But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.'
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ' Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?'
I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'
Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

Yes and my millionaire friend tells me, you know what, I've pulled myself up by my bootstraps from nothing to everything I have. if I can do it so can everyone else. I take care of mine and don't ask the Govt or anyone else for support. If others can't do the same it's just some character defect or they're lazy and they deserve everything they get. What you sow you reap or you make your bed then you lay in it. I mean I got mine and screw everyone else. Their misfortune is their problem.

    Welcome to the Republican Party.

Right, because there are no millionaires in the Democrat party. I love how republicans get bashed for being "rich", money hungry, screw everyone else etc. In reality republicans just prefer to work for/earn the money being given out. Democrats just want to give away handouts for free. How can you expect someone who has been living comfortably on free handouts to go to work, when they know they can stay at home and pump out kids and survive comfortably without working? Free only goes so far before someone is paying for it. You don't become wealthy, and stay that way, by giving away all your money.

A thought. We used to have Charities. Churches, Missions, and Organizations to help folks.

Seems the governor knows best. No need to obligate anyone for helping you along. Some folks expect some progress as helping someone to be independent. Why bother?

Another misconception is that people with wealth just hoard their money. No, they generally invest their wealth, purchase consumables, start businesses and hire employees, etc.

Yes and welfare used to be a hand up not a career, , this us where it went wrong,,but where is the reward for working hard all your life to earn money and expect it to be spent wisely?
If I become wealthy, i shouldn't have a target on my back for any liberal who wants it to give to someone else.
This is why people are rallying around Trump. I don't find him the best candidate for the presidency, but who else? Another Dem, who wants the deficit to keep climbing faster than an electric meter in the summer? Somewhere fiscal responsibility has to be addressed. And don't go telling me I,m the bad guy cause my bank account is bigger than yours. If liberals want to support anyone not willing to work for it, all you have to do is give them your money. I don't recollect Obama, Hillary , Bernie, Cruze, Rubio, or Trump , taking care of all these handout people out of their own pocket, fact of the matter any one who feels that we should just keep sending our money to lost causes, please feel free to empty you bank account , your owns pension your investment portfolio, and 401, s tomorrow and go find the
A lazy career handout receiving person and just write them a Check, and if you don't want to, then my guess is your a closet republican. Tc

This was a recent FB post from a cousin of mine who should have known better. The following was my reply. For the sake of clarity, I'm living in the Philippines. To those who think that the reason people end up on benefits is because they're just lazy, ask yourself,"What did my parents do?" If the answer is that they were blue collar (or white collar, or privileged) and you are in the same category as them, then you're in no position to judge others. You were given a set of circumstances and you did nothing to improve yourself, so don't condemn someone born to a dependent junkie who ends up a dependent junkie. They are no better nor worse than you. That said, the problems I state concerning the creation of a welfare state are still valid.

Nothing will spoil the joy of a ride in your new Ferrari more than seeing a grandmother struggling to get enough water to survive as you drive by and if it doesn't, look in the mirror. By the way, as per my OP, it still looks like DT is your next leader.
