A while back I was privileged to have offered to buy a knife that Bruno's lovely daughter had forged. It was right before my summer ride on the Harley so I asked Bruno to just hang onto it.

    https://sharprazorpalace.com/non-sha...-daughter.html

To be honest I completely forgot about it till after the ride and I was going through old business on my computer when I ran into the payment for the knife. I sent a message to him and found that Bruno was on holiday and said he would get it in the mail once he was home.

He is a man of his word as the knife landed here at the Boars Nest today well packaged and requiring a signature.

While I can make mediocre scales for straights, I've never made a handle for a knife before but I decided to use some honey horn that I had laying around that was about 5/16" thick with some streaking in it.

It was a real learning experience. I got one curve ball that I didn't see coming. After thinning the blank and getting the saw marks out I used some blue painters tape on the blank so I could easily see the pattern and where the holes were, however once I started to remove it, the damn tape pulled some of the horn off!! So back to the bench top sander.

I made some mistakes but for my first try I'm pleased. I just hope Bruno's daughter likes it. She has a gift for this

My apologies for the quality of the pics but even with the light box I bought I can't take a decent picture to save my soul---

Sharpening it will have to wait, I should have been doing housework instead of making the scales so now I'm even further behind than I was when I awoke this morning.

Home from abroad and decided to open the dunked iphone.
Glad I did as the entire unit did sustain water.
Note the little red strip on the right side of the glass. That’s the water indicator that tells Apple it’s been in the drink and to void the warranty.
Not as if all the other signs don’t support that too.
This was after being in a bag of rice, while still assembled, for over ten days..

Separated every connector and sprayed with contact cleaner to remove the corrosion.
Now sun dry for a few hours then plug it all back in and see.
Too early to say if I have these skills, but here’s hoping..

That’ll be expensive wall art Tom, but I like it, if it can’t be fixed, what a memento.

This poor little pipe was wreck the bowl was crack, the cake was masive and the stem was heavily oxidize with deep teeth marks.
Cleaned, reeamed, deodorized, sand blasted, stained, sanded and polished among many procedures and those are the pictures for your entertainment
