I don't know if this will qualify as having any 'Skills' but it's functional---
My best friend Carl Always has his Leatherman on him. Always--well at least it seems that way as we've eaten in restaurants and he's pulled his Leatherman out to cut his meat with--Attachment 316006
I received a Leatherman from him for Christmas. Here's the sheath that it came in--
Attachment 316007
While I was grateful for the gift, the sheath just didn't cut it, so I made my own.
I'd picked up some various leathers as my son wants to make an ammo belt but there is plenty to spare so I used some of it.
I knew that soaking the leather would soften it and then it could be formed around the knife BUT I wanted a nice tight fit so I thought to myself--'Self, could you use the Food Saver Vacuum System'? I didn't think it was so far fetched so I checked out YouTube and sure as hell others had thought about it. So----

Then to make the piece for the belt to pass through--

I used Barges Contact cement to glue the front and back together--

I also used the contact cement to adhere the loop and then used rivets to make sure it stayed in place--

I used various 'forks' that are used to keep the holes even then used a 1/16" drill bit to make sure the holes would allow the 'Speedy Stitcher' to freely go through.
Here's the stitching--

Dyed and a bit of Mink Oil on it.

As I said, it's functional--
Thanks for looking :bow
Looks great, Roy
Pretty clever thinking Roy.
Looks like a nice custom fit.

Great idea on the food vacuum thingy. Thats using your head for more than pounding nails! :rofl2:
Spandex tight buddy.
Spank for tools!
Great idea.
That's Outstanding Roy! Well Done!
That vacuum idea is freakin' genius! A) why the hell didn't I think of that, and B) I need to get me one of those!
:tu
Do you think the food saver could also be used to impregnate wood scale material with resin? Seems it should work with their Mason jar sealer kit, but I don’t know if it can draw a sufficient vacuum.
I don’t own one, but I’m pretty sure I could convince SWHMBO that it would be a good purchase knowing that I could never convince her about buying a real vacuum system.
I don't think a food saver would pull enough vacuum plus they turn off after a bit.
