cool! does water buffalo bone have pores like cow bone? i was under the assumption that bone didn't work so well for scrimshaw because of the pores?Quote:

Bone works great. You do have to be aware of the pores and wax often, I actually wax after every ink application. That and starting with a good base layer keeps it from getting in too many places where I do not want it.

I have never tried working with cow bone. I cannot make a comparison.
Hey Guys,
A friend of mine has a Dozier Arkansas knife that came with a Kydex horizontal carry sheath. He wanted a leather sheath that was IWB (In the waistband) carry. I made this one for him with three layers of back panel; considering the Tanto point on the blade.
The detachable loops allow for IWB or on the belt, outside carry.

Nice job John. I keep waiting for someone that does nylon sheaths to post in this thread. They are not as pretty as leather ones but they are the answer if you work in a salt water environment.

You know they just pasted the law that make Switch-blades legal here in Colorado last week, I think. Not really sure I need one but it would be faster than my thumb lever knife.
Yes, it would be a tad faster than the thumb lever, but not as fast as a fixed blade. :shrug:
