Default So What Song Did You Grow Up In?? ie. best describes your childhood

Been thinking about posting this for a while.

Is there any song which REALLY reminds you of growing up??
Something that speaks of whence you came?

    All genres welcome.

Feel free to include lyrics to explain these feelings.

That's a hard one -- I don't know if it describes my childhood but I remember the Urban Cowboy soundtrack/album mixed with American Gigolo/Blondie with touches of Barry Manilow ---throw in some Kenny Rogers and Pink Floyd.

I'll have to think more about which song describes my childhood.

Well well, that would certainly explain comments like this.

“Because of You” by Lean Rimes. (No I do not know how to spell her name) I swear the song is about my childhood. I would send a copy to my father, whom I have not spoken to for 5 years, but that would let him know where I live.

These two songs remind me of my childhood. Although, chipmunks singing *anything* reminds me of my childhood...

[WARNING: may not be appropriate for small children - kind of sums up my childhood, actually ]

Oh boy, I should have know better. I thought "Chipmunks - cool" and opened it with my 5 year old daughter next to me .

It's all good though, it didn't start playing before I read the song title and shut it down.

Steve - sorry mate, I didn't think I'll try to remember to give a heads up for parents on this stuff in the future.
