Thanked: 8Paris Hilton out of jail for medical reasons
Well there's good ol fashioned american justice. After only 5 days of a 45 day sentence reduced to 23 for good behavior Hilton is out after 5. I bet you and me would receive the same treatment as well.

Thanked: 1I thought it was only 3 days, which would make it even worse.

Yeah -- it's three I believe -- but I think (I'm sickened that I know) she checked in at night so that counted as one day --so really two days in jail ( I think)
Her penalty --- doing what most of us would like to do --- staying home for a couple of weeks (but in a hell of a nicer home).

Actually, if possible, THIS will make it even WORSER!
Here's the deal (I saw it on TV)....she checked in at 11:55 pm, so she gets credit for the WHOLE DAY....
They let here out at 12:30 am, so she gets credit for THAT whole day, too!
3-days in the hooskow....credit for 5....her lawyers were right in the middle of it from the get go, and advised her when to check in, and then put on the full-court press with the Sherrif.....
it stinks!....it Stinks!...IT STINKS!!!.....they let her make a mockery of the system.....45-days trapped in her mansion.....with an ankle bracelet....
...thank God she got out in time for ladies night....

haha, It's so funny to see what the US justice system has become. I can only imagine how much people from other countries laugh at us.

Thanked: 1A law professor of mine nailed it on the head. He always told us "money and power buy justice in America"

Isn't that what the pledge of allegiance says... with liberty and justice for those with deep pockets?
It's a shame that a celebrity (and what exactly makes her a celeb??) can make such a mockery of our justice system. I'm sure the rest of the world is enjoying the hell out of this, especially as we try to spread democracy around the globe.

Thanked: 0Justice has to be seen happening for it to mean anything, and for it to be a realistic deterrent fo future crime.
Kyle, you are right in so many more ways then you know.
