    Default Day 12 Progress Report

This day reminds me of another song. Spinning Wheels by Chicago. My water meter wheel is spinning so hard even I'm getting dizzy. Couple of quick pictures of the results so far.

First pic is after 12 hours constant running all night long. Not sure we're making any progress.

Second and third pics are after 24 hours. Finally coming close to the side walls and creeping into the shallow end. Still need to get to the black line. Likely another overnight run.

Getting dizzy again. Got to sit down ........

Do you pay for water where you are?

I'm one block outside the "free zone", even though the Lake is at the bottom of my street, and the free water is one street to the West, we have to pay for our water.

If you're in the paying zone, yup, that will cost big time...but worth every penny.

Looks absolutely beautiful, expect to see a SOTD with a pool side back drop.

Does the Dog House include pool access?

How many times do you see hoses across your street?

When I was growing up, we had a fireman living on our cul de sac. Ours was a concrete pool back then, and every couple of years when I had to repaint it my dad would invite him and the entire firehouse over for a bbq and pool opening party. They would run a firehouse from the street and fill it up in hours.
I recall it was freezing cold but they didn't care. Jumped right in, with smokes in mouth and drinks in hand..
    This was the 70s though...
Do you have a gas heater for yours? That is really looking inviting!

Now-a-days, all the firemen would get fired and you'd have to pay for the water!

Gas heater for winter dips sounds awesome!

Do you have more than one spigot on the outside of your house? Also, depending on your kitchen/sink faucets, you could attach a garden hose adapter to one of them.

Yeah we're paying for this. I'm sure I'll choke on the bill when it arrives.

Yes but no HBO so that's a problem.

Sounds like a fun way to open up the pool.

    Default Day 13 Progress Report

Finally after 36 hours running a hose the water level gets to the point where they can cut out the returns, lights, skimmer & remove the vacuum. Plumbing, salt system and electrical work gets done. Light test is a thumbs up. Hose still running. Should finally be full in the morning. A couple of bad shot tonight with the new lights. Almost done now.

That is certainly a fine job and a stunning looking pool, what a great renovation / restoration for the backyard...turned out spectacularly, and that uniquely shaped pool is fantastic.

So you went salt water as well, excellent, never knew how involved that pump and filtration system is...learn something new every day.

So guess around Friday / Saturday, with the weather scheduled to be, once again, simply awesome, you'll be having a fine day of swimming followed up by some tasty grilling.

"Fixing up the pool" sounds like such a simple thing to do!

Thanks for showing the process. It looks like they did a fantastic job, and it was cool to see how it was done.

I hope you and yours have many years of use from it.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
