Thanked: 4207Cool thread. Love to know folks 'handles' lineage. Been a great read. Throw in my own,
MikeB, my name, and when I graduated college in 89 my favourite aircraft was (and still is) the B-52 stratofortress,, so the rest was fate. Been my handle as long as the internet has existed, and actually before, on Bulletin Boards..
I too hope to be around for an estimated 95 years of active service..albeit on a ridiculously reduced scale..

Mike, you ever tour the Big Stick? Years ago at an Air Show in Trenton, my friends and I got to snoop around in an "H" variant. That is one BIG bird, with lots of cool buttons and gauges.

Thanked: 4207Yessir I did, but not wheels up..;(
When in the business I was fortunate to be able to climb on some of them when they were parked at Lester B. for air shows as well. Got to peak in a Nimrod too, very cool, also a Concord, loved the sheepskin cockpit interior in that one..and the centre hinge across the floor that allowed the nose to tilt during final approach!! Bigger buckles on that piano hinge than Mack Davis' beltbuckle..
But they all seemed tiny compared to the Strat..
Trenton Airshow always seemed more exciting than the TO one. I also loved hitting Hamilton for the Father's Day show. My uncle ran the Warplane Heritage out of Mount Hope, and during that show we used to have access to the hangar roof and sat with all the pilot's and their families. Were such awesome memories.

Thanked: 56I've been using Moonshae as my online handle since 1992. It's taken from a group of islands in a fantasy series of books (Forgotten Realms). I've been using it for so long that I will actually respond to it faster than my given name, John, as I go by my nickname, Jay.

Mines pretty straight forward being a genetic mixture of 50% Welsh and 50% Irish 100% Celtic and very much proud of all the Celtic people and nations Scotland Ireland and Wales I naturally had to go with the name Celticrusader.
