Justin, pull your trousers up man!
You could get arrested otherwise!
This has to rank up there with the law that the wonderful Mayor of Carmel ("I'll blow your head cleeeaaan off") passed about not eating ice cream in public.

dunno, maybe it's the age difference, but the whole pants around the knees thing just looks dumb, like they couldn't make their mind up whether they wanted to get dressed or not.

Thanked: 1I understand the baggy pants style originated in prisons and was used by the "girlfriends" of some of the inmates to save time or to announce availability or some such thing. Now, kids all over are copying the style with no real idea of what it was originally meant for.
I'm not sure if all this is true but I've heard it from a few reputable sources so I think there might be some kernel of truth to it.

Tax dollars at work, I see. If partially showing boxers is indecent, what should I wear at the beach? Some of these Christian fundamentalists are becoming alarmingly like the Taliban and this is coming from an Orthodox Christian. My pants are pulled all the way up but I don't see why we should be giving kids a hard time and wasting tax dollars better spent on fighting real crime or poverty or fixing up roads.

Thanked: 1All right, I wouldn't normally say something but I went back and read the article. Where does it say this is as a result of Christian Fundamentalists???
That and the crack about comparing us to the Taliban is VERY uncalled for. And yes, I realize Ilija said "some of these" but to blame a stupid law on anyone not defined as being connected in any way to the law is wrong. The only people we can/should be irritated at is the lawmakers proposing it.
I've even gone back and read some of the local reports and no one supporting the law has identified themselves as a CF. While I'm sure there is some supporting the law, I wouldn't be surprised to find some non-CF people supporting it either.
Hmm, I wonder if any liberal alderman is voting for it. If I understand properly, Louisiana isn't exactly a haven for us right-wing Christian taliban wackos.
I don't care for this style one bit. I think it shows a lack of modesty and it's stupid looking. But, not for one second would I ever support a law like this.
OK, I'm done now. Excuse me while I go attempt to have the atheist in the next office thrown in jail for not agreeing with my religious/social/political views.

The basis of the law is in indecent exposure.. Who else would push for making it indecent for you to show a part of your underwear if your body is fully covered? My main beef with this law is that it makes a completely harmless practice illegal under severe pentalties and wastes police resources. Since the Islamic fundamentalists don't have enough of a political muscle to ammend a littering law, who else is left? I know! Those guys who lobbied to make showing a nude person on TV a no-no but buckets of blood perfectly ok.

Woh woh wo-ah!
Guys, this was intended to titillate. To raise a chuckle. Let's not go there.
Anyway, Lou's gonna post a picture with his trousers halfway down his ass by way of defusing this situation and returning it to comic status.
Isn't that right, Lou?
(Pretty please?)
