I remember when it was a big deal to go from a 800 baud modem to a 1200 baud. It "screamed".

I'm not really old, but remember many things you guys are discussing.
Having grown up on a farm and still farming I've seen a big change in equipment. Heck it self drives now, and has a radio and a/c
I can remember riding with dad on an open cab combine harvesting corn. Bundled up like Ralph on A Christmas Story hahaha

Our kids and grandkids will never know how much fun life was without all this technology in their lives. We had this thing called an imagination, and we used it regularly!!!! Our minds weren't told what to do and when/how to do it.........

We actually sold our New Idea corn picker about 6 years ago, and we did grind cob corn up til about 7 years ago for the cattle. But then the market was real hot and we sold out just before the down turn we are still in.

kelbro, there still needs to be an operator in the cab to monitor the implements and turn around at the end of the field. But I have a feeling it's not going to be long before it's totally automated. Just need humans to move from field to field down the roads

I was just thinking, it was about 7 years ago they updated our land lines here from the WWII system. It wouldn't ring, it would buzz and there were certain lines, like ours, that you could listen to others conversations

It's amazing to think that our kids will never envision a time like that, or that if they can they will consider it almost prehistoric 😂

Also amazing is the speed of development. I own a smartwatch now. And there is more computing power in that watch than there was in my first full fledged pc, and my phone is considerably more capable. Jeez my tv has more computing power than that.

There is more computing power in that watch than there was in the Apollo Lunar Command Module-think about that!

Roger, I was in Sturgis this last year on my big ride,, even the week before it was crazy,, my suggestion is you need to look for a room now. And don't forget to go on some of the organized rides like out to the Devils tower. Have fun my friend myself I,ll be there again, but ,ll still say this, little Sturgis in Kentucky is still like the old Sturgis. So I,m kinda leaning towards doing both next year. Tc

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
